There are many reasons, like climate change, wars, economic problems, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>\ud83d\udcc9 <strong>Not Much Progress<\/strong>: The number of people not getting enough food has gone up, with South Asia and Africa being the most affected regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>\ud83d\udea8 <strong>Alarming Levels in Some Countries<\/strong>: 9 countries are facing extreme hunger problems: places like Yemen, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 34 more countries, hunger is a big issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>\ud83c\udf97 <strong>Some Good News<\/strong>: There are countries that improved. Countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Mozambique managed to reduce their hunger levels, even with all the global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>\ud83c\udf2a <strong>Crises Making Things Tough<\/strong>: The after-effects of COVID-19, wars, and climate disasters have made it hard for many countries to provide food for their people. Countries that are already struggling are hit the hardest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>\ud83e\uddd2 <strong>Youth and Food<\/strong>: There&#8217;s a big focus on young people. Right now, there are more young people than ever before. But the food systems are failing them. But by focusing on youth and updating our approach to food and farming, there&#8217;s hope for the future!\ud83c\udf31\ud83c\udf3d\ud83c\udf5e&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>The Global Hunger Index is a helpful tool that measures how much hunger there is in the world, from the whole planet to smaller regions like countries. This index is collaboratively compiled by <strong>Concern Worldwide<\/strong>, an Irish aid organization, and <strong>Welt Hunger Hilfe<\/strong>, a German nonprofit organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>The Global Hunger Index, or GHI, uses four key factors to figure out how bad hunger is in a place:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\">\n  <li>Undernourishment: This looks at how many people don&#8217;t get enough food.<\/li>\n  <li>Child stunting: It checks how many kids under five are too short for their age because of malnutrition.<\/li>\n  <li>Child wasting: This measures how many kids under five are too thin for their height because of malnutrition.<\/li>\n<li>Child mortality: It sees how many children don&#8217;t live past their fifth birthday due to hunger-related issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:13px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"font-size: 18.5px; text-align: justify;\"\n>They put all these numbers together to make a score on a scale from 0 to 100. The lower the score, the better because it means there&#8217;s less hunger.
