Read moreDue to the severity of the situation, the Ukrainian vice president tweeted to Elon Musk requesting him to provide Starlink stations to the people of Ukraine. Merely 10 hours after the tweet, Elon Musk replied that the service had been activated. With his action, he won hearts.
Starlink is a network of satellites launched by Elon Musk under SpaceX. Its goal is to use one of the satellites to beam the internet directly to customers. So far, SpaceX has launched more than 1,700 satellites, with a total of 40,000 planned. It is an ambitious project to provide internet access around the world.
Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route.
