Who owns the ISS (International Space Station)? The owners of the Space Station are the United States, Russia, the European Partner, Japan, and Canada. They are legally responsible for the respective elements (e.g., laboratories) they provide.
Suggestions by the Russian space chief claimed that sanctions on Russia could have severe consequences for the ISS. He said that Russia could respond to the US sanctions by letting the ISS fall from space. Elon Musk responded by posting his company’s logo, SpaceX, and appeared to confirm that SpaceX would get involved should the ISS fall out of orbit.
