Saudi Arabia Government had started the construction of the “The Line”

What is it?

Hey there! Guess what’s happening in Saudi Arabia? They’re building something super cool called “The Line”!

It will be a 170 km long city in the Saudi Arabian desert. The city will be built between two huge parallel walls that will face each other, stretching from the Red Sea into the desert. Outside it will be made of mirrors. It will be higher than most of the world’s tallest buildings. Satellite images show the construction is underway.

The plan is for nine million (i.e. 90 lakh) people to live. And get this – no cars allowed! That means no roads. People will have access to all daily essentials within a five-minute walk.

To go far, it will rely on a high-speed rail network. The whole city will use clean, emission-free energy. The residents can enjoy an ideal climate all year round with surrounding nature.

But here’s the twist: Some smart researchers did the math and said that a long, straight city like a line isn’t very efficient. If you pick two random people from this city, they’d be, on average, 50 km apart! Not very neighborly, right?

The researchers suggested a more practical solution – make the city in a circle instead of a line where everything would be closer together. So, even though a straight-line city might sound cool, going in circles seems to be the smarter way to build a city!

Anyway, It’s a huge and futuristic plan to create something totally different! It is said that the aim can be to diversify the Saudi economy away from oil.
